Feast

Mark, companion of Peter and Paul, wrote the shortest of the four Gospels. Tradition names him founder of the Church in Alexandria.

Fourth Mystery: The Presentation

““Now you are releasing your servant, Master, according to your word, in peace;”Luke 2:29

In obedience to the Law, Mary and Joseph present the Child Jesus in the Temple. The righteous Simeon takes Him in his arms and blesses God, and the prophetess Anna speaks of Him to all awaiting redemption.

O God, who gave joy to the world through the resurrection of your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, grant, we pray, that through the intercession of the Virgin Mary, his Mother, we may obtain the joys of everlasting life. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.
